BRAND HISTORY
Description
Throne armchair designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1904. Relaunched in 1973 by Cassina. Production batch belonging to the first examples made in 1973. Open pore black stained ash. In excellent condition, minimal signs of domestic use, used purely as a furnishing object. 50 years carried beautifully. CASSINA IMAESTRI collection. Model that the Glasgow school teacher donated, in 1904, to the Willow Tea Rooms in his hometown of the same name. The high semi-circular back served to separate the entrance area from the tea room behind. Giving users moderate privacy. The backrest incorporates the seat, perfectly illustrating Mackintosh's style of geometric rigor and Art Nouveau. BEAUTIFUL
