Description
Wassily by Gavina is an iconic design armchair with an essential shape designed by Marcel Breuer in 1925. Created for the apartment of the artist Wassily Kandinsky, Breuer was inspired by the bicycle frame and the constructivist theories of the De Stjil movement. Gavina is an Italian company founded by Dino Gavina in 1960 and whose president was architect Carlo Scarpa. Its historycal headquarter was in San Lazzaro di Savena, in a building designed by Pier Giacomo Castiglioni in 1959.
