Tavolo con Ruote (Table with Wheels) by FontanaArte is a design icon created by Gae Aulenti.
It was inspired by the industrial trolley used in the FontanaArte factory. The wooden top was replaced with a thick slab of glass, symbol of the company’s production history, to which free-moving industrial castors were fixed.
It is one of the products selected by the MoMA in New York and is part of the permanent collections of the National Museum of Modern Art of the Pompidou Center in Paris.
FontanaArte is an Italian company founded in Milan in 1932 by Luigi Fontana and Giò Ponti and specialized in glass processing and furnishing accessories.
