Description
Design coffee table produced by Molteni, based on a 1950s drawing by Gio Ponti and reinterpreted with a modern twist, featuring contemporary colors and style. The original 1950s coffee table was made of wood, whereas this version is crafted from metal and glass, with colors that change depending on the angle: red, blue, or gray-green, all hand-painted over a white background. The look is vintage, but its ability to furnish is modern. In this reissue, Molteni has updated Gio Ponti’s design, giving it a vintage feel while using very modern materials and color shades. Good condition with slight signs of wear (visible on the underside of the table); only one mark, pictured, is in a more visible area; and there is a subtle shade on one leg that the photos don’t capture clearly. Paint imperfections are due to the hand-painting process and are, in fact, a stylistic hallmark of this production.
