Stringa series coffee table Gae Aulenti (1960s)

Coffee table from the Stringa series by Gae Aulenti for Poltronova, 1960s. It is made up of a pair of chromed steel tubes (diameter: 3 cm) which form two semicircles on the ground. The base supports are composed of four chromed steel spheres with threaded interior, screwed to the two tubulars. The smoked glass top rests directly on the ends of the tubes, protected by gaskets. The chromed tubulars are in excellent condition, they have been polished but have some slight imperfections due to age. Likewise, the glass also has some slight imperfections, visible only against the light. The smoked glass top, the tubes and the four ball supports are original, no components have been replaced. Its soft 60s lines and minimal design make it an excellent component for furnishing the living room with a contemporary style.
