Anfibio 3-Seater Sofa Bed by Alessandro Becchi

Designed in 1970 by Alessandro Becchi for Giovannetti Collezioni, the Anfibio sofa bed is regarded by international critics as a true “working sofa” and an icon of modern Italian design. Featuring generous dimensions and soft, enveloping shapes, it invites relaxation, togetherness, and everyday comfort. The sofa easily converts into a bed, making it versatile and functional without sacrificing style. Its high-density, non-deformable padding is covered with a protective fabric made of thermally insulating acrylic fibers, while the interior is crafted from merino wool to ensure both comfort and durability. All fabric parts are removable, making maintenance and cleaning simple. Made in Italy, it combines premium materials such as cowhide leather, iron, jute, wool, and polyurethane in an elegant, timeless black design. The dimensions when closed as a sofa are H 70 × W 230 × D 90 cm, with a seat height of 45 cm and a weight of approximately 50 kg. When open as a bed, it measures H 35 × W 200 × D 180 cm. This vintage piece is in excellent condition, practically like new, with minimal signs of use or minor restorations, preserving the original charm of the 1970s.
