Description
New and never installed, this work of art designed by Giorgio Vigna in 2007 is the quintessence of the frosted glass technique, Vetro Molato, which derives from a long and delicate process in which each piece of glass goes through the blowing process, immersed in clear waters and aquamarine raw colored glass paste, worked with ground processing, which gives a special and fairy-tale appearance to every piece and every detail. -Luce Siderale, from within the glass manufacturing processes comes a collection of lamps in which the memory of the furnace lives. A master glassmaker's tool, intended to be a means and not an end, is freed from its traditional function to acquire aesthetic and evocative value. The cones marked by the manufacturing tests become enigmatic ice stalactites with new functions of use. - -The memory of the furnace transmitted by the Siderale lamp collection derives from the glass manufacturing process itself. In this project the master glassmaker's tool, understood as a means rather than an end, is freed from its traditional function and freed to acquire aesthetic and evocative value. The cones bearing all the signs of production have become enigmatic ice stalactites with an entirely new function
