Description
Set of five black lacquered walnut wood chairs with gray velvet seats, designed by Vittorio Dassi, one of the most important names in 20th-century Italian woodworking. His company, Dassi Mobili Moderni, closely collaborated with Gio Ponti in the 1940s and 1950s, which explains the refined and architectural style. While Ponti or Parisi provided the artistic vision, Dassi was the master craftsman behind the technical execution. His works stand out for their excellence in cabinetmaking, the ability to bend solid wood (often rosewood or walnut) creating joints that are almost invisible yet extremely strong. This model perfectly represents the transition between the solid Art Deco taste and the organic modernism of the 1950s.
