Selene Chair by Vico Magistretti (1960s)

Italian design icon, created by Vico Magistretti for Artemide Milano, the Selene chair is featured in the world's most important museums and design collections, such as the MoMA in New York and the Vitra Design Museum. The project dates back to 1966 and mass production began in 1969. The chair from those early years is made from a single mold of plastic material, Reglar® or GRP (a fiberglass-reinforced polyester resin). The choice of material and the one-piece shell structure were revolutionary at the time, ensuring stability with slender legs reminiscent of wooden chairs, delivering strength without the bulky look of other plastic chairs from that era. The chairs we offer are all in excellent condition, with varying minor signs of age and use: we have photographed the most noticeable ones, which are hardly visible. One chair is missing the rubber feet. They are made in Reglar®, not ABS as in later productions. Dimensions: W x D x H: 47 x 50 x 75 cm, seat height 45 cm. Weight: 4 kg.
