Description
“Kazuki” chair designed by Kazuhide Takahama for Simon / Simon Gavina, one of the most iconic pieces of Italian design from the late 20th century. The Kazuki is considered a symbol of modern rationalism and holds historical significance as one of the first mass-produced pieces of furniture finished with high-gloss polyester lacquer, an innovative finish for its time. The chair features a high backrest, low side panels, and semicircular profile edges, giving it a sleek yet highly elegant silhouette. The sides are made of MDF, while the seat and backrest are crafted from birch plywood, with a polyester lacquered structure in a glossy finish. Essential design, balanced proportions, and excellent craftsmanship are all trademarks of Simon / Gavina productions. The chair is sturdy and fully functional, showing normal signs of age consistent with its vintage status, without compromising stability or historical value. Ideal both as a collector’s item and as a striking accent piece in modern, minimalist, or vintage interiors. Period: original design late 1960s. Dimensions: 46 x 46 x h106 cm; seat height 43 cm.
