The Irma chair pair by Zanotta, designed by Achille Castiglioni, is a perfect example of Italian design that combines formal rigor, ergonomic comfort, and timeless elegance. Originally created for the designer's wife, the Irma chair evolved from the previous Lierna model and stands out for its essential and refined structure, ideal for sophisticated spaces such as designer living rooms, stylish home offices, or modernist-inspired dining rooms. The frame is crafted from burnished steel tubing with a 25 mm diameter, lending the chair both sturdiness and an elegant industrial look. The seat is upholstered in dark brown leather, a material that gains charm and depth over time. Castiglioni deliberately designed the shape to be rigid, promoting proper posture during meals or work, in line with a design approach where aesthetics and functionality coexist harmoniously. This pair comes from a renowned furniture store in Trento and was purchased in the early 1980s, making it part of the model’s first production run. The chairs have been carefully used and are in good overall condition, with natural signs of age and minor wear that attest to their authenticity and history, enhancing their vintage character. Dimensions: height 90 cm, width 40 cm, depth 51 cm. The product originally had an adhesive label that is no longer present due to its vintage age.
