Description
International design icon: the Mah Jong modular sofa by Roche Bobois, designed by Hans Hopfer and enhanced with exclusive fabrics by Kenzo Takada. Born in the early 1970s from the collaboration between Hopfer and Philippe Roche, the Mah Jong revolutionized the seating concept by introducing the idea of “living close to the floor” and offering complete modularity. Inspired by the Chinese Mah Jong game, the system is made up of free and combinable elements, allowing for endless configurations and complete customization of your space. This special edition features fabrics designed by Kenzo Takada, inspired by Nō Theater kimonos, with refined patterns and evocative colors representing different times of day: Asa, Hiru, and Yoru. The result is an elegant, bold, and timeless sofa, capable of enriching any environment with a touch of culture and refined style. The sofa is in good overall condition, with professionally cleaned and sanitized upholstery, no cuts or loose seams, slight color variations in the velvet due to its natural shimmering effect, and small marks on the lower part of some cushions, not visible when in use. The padding is solid and comfortable, ensuring a pleasant and long-lasting seat. The armchair configuration measures Width 98 cm, Depth 98 cm, Total Height 67 cm, Seat Height 36 cm, but it can be adapted and combined in countless arrangements to suit your space. This Mah Jong is a unique collector’s piece, perfect for lovers of iconic design and high-end modular comfort.
