Franco Bettonica Semispherical Steel Ashtray (1970s)

The metal used to make it makes it virtually indestructible, and its weight provides excellent stability. The high side walls not only prevent accidental ash spills but also give it a large capacity (about 25 cigarette butts). The interior is rounded and polished to allow for easy cleaning. The central cylinder is designed to extinguish cigarette butts and to stack up to five ashtrays securely. When placing a cigarette, it is best to insert it into the designated notch, which is specially calibrated to extinguish the cigarette if forgotten. The resin base is slightly raised to prevent scratching the surface where the ashtray is placed and to avoid metal-to-metal contact when stacking ashtrays. The inside surface is glossy, while the outside surface is brushed in a circular pattern. Supplied in a two-color printed cardboard box.
