Description
The EA 108 aluminum chair is a key piece in the Aluminum Group collection, a classic range that has won numerous awards worldwide and is considered by many as one of the greatest design achievements of the 20th century. The Aluminium Chair is one of the most iconic furniture designs of the twentieth century. Charles and Ray Eames conceived and designed this chair in 1958 for the private residence of an art collector in Columbus, Indiana (USA). To create the chair, the designer duo moved away from the typical shell seat concept, instead stretching a panel of fabric or leather between two lateral aluminum elements to form a seat that is both taut and flexible. The chair adapts to the shape of the body and is exceptionally comfortable, even without complex padding. Lot condition: The EA 108 chair presented here dates from the 1980s and is in excellent used condition, showing only minor signs of age. This is the swivel model, featuring a stable five-star base, polished aluminum arms, and frame. It comes with a high-quality black leather upholstery, which has been cleaned, sanitized, and treated with professional nourishing products to renew its appearance and softness.
