Description
White and black Kosta Boda vase, hand-painted and signed by Swedish artist Ulrica Hydman-Vallien (1938-2018). This vase is the small version of the Caramba model by the renowned Swedish artist Ulrica Hydman-Vallien, taking you on a wild visual journey. The vase itself is made from clear glass with swirling white stripes that give the piece an opalescent glow. The glass is delicately mouth-blown into a simple, elegant form; its ovoid shape and short, wide neck offer an artisanal touch and a look of refined craftsmanship. This graceful shape is painted with black enamel in wild, surreal patterns, with the dark color creating a striking contrast against the soft swirls of glass beneath. Inspired by the artist’s time in Mexico, abstract shapes are enhanced with elements of plants and animals, evoking totemic or mythical creatures. These forms are placed at unusual angles within the composition, with none spatially connected to each other, resulting in a design that buzzes with energy, as if revealing the primordial origins of life. The enamel is incised with sgraffito techniques, allowing the glass underneath to show through and creating a cameo glass effect. Dimensions: approx. 5 cm in diameter x 8 cm in height.
