The Astor extendable dining table, designed by Grafite Design for Horm, features a top made from extruded anodized aluminum profiles (2 mm thick), polycarbonate end caps, and high-pressure laminate slats (2 mm thick). Astor’s standout feature is its exclusive rapid telescopic extension system: when closed, the wooden slats on the tabletop alternate with slim aluminum inserts. To extend the table, simply pull—much like opening an accordion, a nod to the inspiration from Astor Piazzolla. As you expand the table, the wooden slats spread evenly to reveal the aluminum profiles, which are hidden when the table is closed.
