Description
Authentic 1940s Italian three-seater sofa, inspired by a reinterpreted Biedermeier style and offering a perfect balance between classic elegance and the soft, flowing lines typical of its era. The frame is crafted from sturdy beech wood with a painted finish, evident in the sculpted armrests and the front band, details that highlight its decorative and artisanal value. The high backrest features three panels of hand-woven Vienna straw, kept in excellent condition, adding both visual lightness and superior craftsmanship. Under the seat, there is a spacious wooden storage compartment—rare and functional—designed to maximize space without compromising aesthetics. Comfort is assured by the original helical springs, reflecting the exceptional build quality of the time. The upholstery has been renewed with a green and cream striped fabric, and the cushioning includes seven pieces in total: seat cushions, bolsters, and a decorative pillow. Finishing details include “boat” shaped armrests, front saber legs, and a lower band with engraved decoration, all emphasizing its historical and refined character. The dimensions are 215 cm wide, 100 cm deep, and 90 cm total height, with a seat height of 48 cm and seat depth of 78 cm. This is a statement vintage piece, ideal for collectors or sophisticated interiors.
