Founded in 1950 in Weil am Rhein, Germany, Vitra was inspired by the renowned American designers Charles and Ray Eames. Acquiring rights to design icons like the Eames Plastic Chair and Lounge Chair, the brand became synonymous with innovation in furniture. Collaborations with artists such as Herman Miller and George Nelson, the creator of the Marshmallow Sofà, further expanded its range. Vitra is renowned not only for its products but also for bold architectural projects at the Vitra Campus, featuring buildings by Nicholas Grimshaw, Álvaro Siza, Frank Gehry, Tadao Andō, and Zaha Hadid, defining an icon in the design world.
