Beschreibung

The Fauteuil Dossier Basculant is a famous armchair designed by Le Corbusier in collaboration with architects Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand. Presented at the Salon d'Automne in 1929 together with the furniture group “Equipement de l'habitation”, it represents a milestone in modernist design. Its innovative design is characterised by the use of chromed tubular steel, reflecting the industrial approach and modernist aesthetic typical of the first half of the twentieth century. The design is minimalist but extremely functional, a testimony to the philosophy of its creators who placed man and his needs at the centre of their project, with results that enhance functionality and ergonomics. One of the most distinctive features of the LC1 armchair is its adjustable backrest, designed to respect the proportions of the human body. This mechanism allows the sitter to change the angle for optimal comfort, designed to facilitate conversation. The armchair has become an icon of international style and the modernist movement, appreciated for its timeless elegance and its ability to transcend momentary trends. This object is part of the most prestigious design collections, such as the MoMA in New York, the MET, the Louvre, the Triennale in Milan and many others.
