Writing desk inlaid with fine woods (20th Century)

The 20th century Italian desk, made in Napoleon III style, is a refined example of period cabinetmaking. Veneered and inlaid with fine woods such as walnut, mahogany, maple and fruit woods, it is embellished with hand-painted floral decorations that adorn the edge of the top, the front and the sides. Completely finished from the center, it is enriched with details in bronze and gilded and chiseled brass. The desk is equipped with three front drawers, of which the central one is equipped with a lock with a working key. The top is covered in chiseled and gilded fake leather, with some signs of wear, but still of great elegance and practicality, making it suitable for professional use. The four wavy legs, also enriched with bronze and brass applications, give lightness and refinement to the structure. Overall, the desk is solid and stable, albeit with some small signs of aging and some missing veneer, details that do not compromise its historical and decorative charm.
