One-of-a-kind 19th century Tuscan mahogany lyre table with hand-forged iron stretcher. Note that the table surface is made from a single solid piece of 40mm mahogany which has prevented the table from warping over the centuries. The iron stretcher is completely hand forged. The table has recently been treated with beeswax. Excellent vintage condition with visible/fair wear on the wood and iron surfaces. This table comes from a farmhouse in Tuscany that was demolished some time ago. It was typically used in kitchens for preparing homemade pasta. The table top is made of a wax-treated solid mahogany slab. It's definitely an investment, given the scarcity of wood slabs of this size.
