The Variable Balans, designed by Peter Opsvik in 1979, is an ergonomic chair that promotes good posture, ideal for use at a desk for both children and adults. Its unique structure allows the shoulders to be open and the spine to maintain its natural curvature, promoting dynamic sitting that stimulates movement. Thanks to the glides and knee pads, body weight is evenly distributed, while the inclined seat makes breathing easier. This innovative design prevents tension on the back and shoulders, improving blood circulation and increasing oxygen levels. The chair is made of a teal stained ash frame and Revive fabric, a durable, flame retardant and easily washable material made of 100% recycled polyester. The padded backrest provides additional comfort, making this chair not only functional, but also comfortable. As an out-of-production edition, it represents a rare and unique piece of design.
