Rare ES105 lounge chair, produced in 1960 by Herman Miller based on an original design by Charles and Ray Eames. The ES Lobby Series lounge chairs were designed to furnish the lobby areas of the Time & Life Building in New York City. The ES 105 lounge chair, with its extra-wide seat and low base, offers comfort thanks to the luxuriously padded leather cushions, proving to be extremely comfortable and versatile. This example, upholstered in original leather in an elegant Avio Blue color, was specifically chosen to furnish the lobby of the Time & Life in New York. It is in excellent condition for its age: the light blue leather upholstery and the polished aluminum frame are free of obvious damage and scratches. Any signs of wear, not visible in the photographs, should be considered a testimony to the 70 years of the chair, but do not detract from its aesthetics. In addition, the chair is equipped with original self-locking casters of the time, ideal for delicate floors.
