Beschrijving
A special, poetic and currently out of production floor lamp (rare to find with the label), designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa for the Italian company Flos in the 80s. Black enamelled aluminium stem, topped by a dimmable halogen lamp; a pair of acid-etched glasses enclose and shield the bulb. Magic and mystery manifest themselves in this 80s floor lamp, with 2 large folding fabric fans, 68 cm wide, which can be moved like in a traditional dance show by a Geisha or a Maiko to shield or increase the intensity of the light. The reference to Japan is found not only in the fan shape of the diffusers, but also in the fabric they are made of, which resembles rice paper. The lamp is in working order and in good vintage condition. It has a single imperfection visible in the photos, a scratch on the black metal stem.
