Vintage floor clock (1970s)

Pendulum clock built in the 70s. The history of this object is quite particular: Some time ago a kind-looking elderly gentleman came into our shop, asking if he could look at our goods. At a certain point he told us that he was a watchmaker, employed in the 70s at the Lowell watch company in Modena, and that he had an interesting object at home to show us. He explained to us that in those years the company wanted to propose some innovations in the market of classic pendulum clocks and that he was precisely the person dedicated to building prototypes, which would then be examined for mass production... This pendulum was not chosen for this production and the manufacturer took it home. For over 50 years it has been treasured by its creator. The watch is in perfect working order, manually wound, operated via chromed steel chain gears at the ends of which there are three counterweights of different weights which mark the time as they go down. The front plexiglass compartment slides and therefore facilitates charging operations. The maximum charge guarantees an autonomy of 6 days. The clock chimes the hours, half hours and quarter hours, with three different combinations, as the sound is produced by 4 independent brass hammers. the casing of the entire pendulum clock is made of lacquered plywood. Since this object was born as a prototype, it does not have the brand of the company that produced it.
